Imran Khan has to declare a lot- Saeed Ghani

Islamabad, 31 July, 2017: Pakistan Peoples Party leader Saeed Ghani in a rejoinder to Pakistan Tehrik-e-Insaf leader Imran Khan’s remarks against former President Asif Ali Zardari has said that an appeal is being heard in Supreme Court against Imran Khan in which he has failed to produce money trail and soon will be declared disqualified for public office.

Saeed Ghani said Asif Ali Zardari was kept in prison for over 11 years and not a single allegation was proved against him. He was acquitted honorably by the courts. He said that Imran Khan had bartered Pakistan’s interest for money in the past when he accepted Kerry Packer’s offer to play in Kerry Packer cricket series in Australia.

Mr. Ghani said that Imran Khan will have to produce not only the money trail but also his blood trail so that everything comes out in the open as black and white. He will have to declare the asset which is for a Ghairatmand person is the biggest asset of his life.

Saeed Ghani said that Imran Khan is an arrogant individual and people still remember the incident at Niaz Stadium Hyderabad when he had kicked a small kid who wanted his autograph. Imran Khan should also recall that his father Ikramullah Khan Niazi was terminated from Government service on corruption charges. Imran Khan wants a new Pakistan for hypocrites but PPP will never allow him to do so, Saeed Ghani concluded.

Demands retraction and apology

Islamabad July 30, 2017: Former President Asif Ali Zardari has strongly condemned the statement of AJK Prime Minister in which he said that after the Supreme Court disqualifying Mr. Nawaz Sharif from holding public office the Kashmiris will seriously rethink whether they wished to join Pakistan or India.

Addressing a press conference along with Chief Minister Gilgit-Baltistan (GB) Hafiz Hafeezur Rehman the Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK) Prime Minister Raja Farooq Haider said on Saturday that the AJK people would now think with which country they should seek annexation of their territory.

In a statement today the former President condemned the remarks of AJK PM as “atrocious and  insulting to the decades long freedom struggle of Kashmiris and their right to self determination  promised to them by the UN”.

How can the UN Resolutions and the inalienable right of Kashmiris to self determination be bartered away with the disqualification of Mr Nawaz Sharif by a judicial process, he asked.

Terming the remarks as “totally unacceptable” Mr Zardari also demanded of the AJK PM to retract his statement and apologize to the people of Kashmir.

Articles 62, 63 used against Zia’s ‘sons’: Khurshid Shah

ISLAMABAD: Leader of the Opposition in National Assembly Syed Khurshid Shah said on Saturday that Article 62, 63 had been included in the Constitution by General Ziaul Haq.

Addressing a meeting of the Pakistan Federal Union of Journalists on Saturday, he said that the law introduced by Zia had now been used against his “sons”. “Nawaz Sharif chose for his defence those who only knew how to hurl abuse. The government itself is responsible for the prevailing situation. The Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) has proved that no one among the party MNAs is eligible for premiership and brought a candidate out of the provincial assembly,” he said. Later, while addressing a press conference, he hailed the Supreme Court’s verdict in the Panama case.

“Independent decisions by institutions make the state and system stronger,” he said. He urged all political forces to accept the decision of the SC and work for the progress and prosperity of the country.

Khursheed Shah, however, said from the day one, he had been asking Muhammad Nawaz Sharif that the Parliament was the real source of his strength. “I had been telling Muhammad Nawaz Sharif that Parliament was the source of his strength. So he should give it respect and dignity,” he said.

He regretted that PML-N had opted to stay away from the Parliament and the masses.

“The PPP had always supported democracy and is committed to doing so in future,” he said. The opposition leader said that Pakistan People’s Party had always rendered unmatched sacrifices for democracy. “Benazir Bhutto sacrificed her life for the sake of democracy. That is why her name is still alive in history,” he said.

Shah contacted leaders of the opposition parties to field a consensus candidate for the office of the PM.

The opposition leader stayed in Islamabad on Saturday on the instruction of party chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari to get the opposition parties to agree to a joint candidate.

Khursheed Shah met Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf’s Shah Mehmood Qureshi, Qaumi Watan Party chief Aftab Ahmad Khan Sherpao and Pakistan Muslim League-Quaid’s Chaudhry Pervez Elahi to discuss the proposal.

Residence Permit purportedly showing Asif Zardari as partner/ employee in a private UAE firm is fake

Islamabad July 29, 2017: The photocopy of the residence permit (iqama) allegedly of former President Asif Zli Zardari doing rounds on the social media is fake, fabricated and photo shopped to malign and discredit the former President and the PPP and is the handiwork of those who wish to bring into disrepute the entire political class.

“This is most reprehensible and is deeply deplored and condemned”, said Spokesperson Senator Farhatullah Babar in a statement today.

He said that Asif Ali Zardari has been validly granted visa by the Ministry of Presidential Affairs, Abu Dhabi on the basis of which he visits stays in the UAE.

The former President does not hold any visa or residence permit as an employee or partner in some private firm as wrongly claimed in the fake iqama doing rounds on social media, he said.

After the disqualification of the Prime Minister by the Supreme Court a vicious and mysterious campaign seems to have been mounted by vested interests to malign and discredit elected representatives of the people and the political class as a whole, he said.

Deploring this Farhatullah Babar said that launching such malicious campaign against the former President, the PPP and the political class as a whole will do no good either to those behind it or to the country as a whole.

Those wishing to paint black Mr. Asif Zardari, the PPP and the elected representatives as a whole should pause, ponder and look inwardly whether they also may have some skeletons.

If they do they might realize that they too have many questions to answer but have escaped accountability, he said.

PPP`s `Go Nawaz Go` rallies seek PM`s resignation without delay

LAHORE: The Pakistan People`s Party on Sunday took out a rally in the provincial metropolis to force Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif to resign from his office before Supreme Court verdict in Panama case involving the ruling family.

Bracing the muggy weather, the participants, occupying jeeps, cars and riding motorcycles and some of them on foot, marched from the Press Club up to Aiwan-iIqbal on Egerton Road, covering around one kilometre distance.

Many of them carried placards and banners inscribed with slogans targeting the Sharifs, terming them `lutairay` (plunderers) and `chore` (thieves).

The party`s senior leader Azizur Rehman Chan, who led the jiyalas` `Go Nawaz Go` rally, said the masses were waiting for a `logical end` to Panama Leaks case. The prime minister, however, should resign before waiting for the Supreme Court verdict in the case as he (Nawaz Sharif) had lostmoral ground to rule the country.

He demanded immediate resignation of the premier, lest any delay in this regard should hit the democratic process in the country.

He alleged that the government removed the PPP banners that had been hoisted for inviting the masses to join the party`s rally but, he said, the step could not save the government from accountability.

Mr Chan also criticised the PML-N government`s development projects saying it only focused the areas which could help it win wider publicity instead of being beneficial for the public in the long run. Wasting public money on `flawed` projects was also a sort of corruption and dishonesty, he added.

GUJRAT: The Punjab PPP president Qamar Zaman Kaira led his party`s `Go Nawaz Go` rally here on Sunday that was participated by a large number of the party workers from across the district.

The pardcipants gathered at the Kutchehry Chowk and marched up to the Press Club.

The PPP workers, mostly women, seemed enthusiastic and were carrying party flags and placards inscribed with `Go Nawaz Go` slogans. They also chanted theslogans demanding Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif`s resignation over Panamagate.

Punjab`s former finance minister Tanveer Ashraf Kaira, PPP Gujrat president Zia Mohyuuddin, secretary general Dr Zahid Zaheer and president woman wing advocate Wazirun Nissa Chaudhry were also among those leading the rally that was the party`s first major activity in the district since the last general elections. Earlier, Qamar Kaira led a rally from his home town of Lalamusa to Gujrat where another big rally of party workers from Jalalpur Jattan, led by Dr Zahid Zaheer, joined it.

According to some observers, participation of party workers from Gujrat city in the rally was thin.

Speaking to the workers on the Press Club lawns, Mr Kaira again asked the prime minister to reveal the names of those elements who were allegedly hatching a conspiracy against PML-N government.

Mr Kaira said all the PPP governments had been f acing conspiracies hatched by the state agencies, besides adverse court verdicts, but the party had always exposed the elements behind these conspiracies.

Saying that the days of Nawaz government were numbered, he added that now the public`sdemand was not limited to just resignation of the premier but the people wanted to see Nawaz Sharif in Adiala Jail. Referring to turncoats leaving the PPP, he said some `seasonal migratory birds` had been flying towards the Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf seeking tickets for next election instead of bringing a change in the country.

He announced that PPP Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari would start visiting Punjab districts, including Gujrat, in the next month to meet with the party workers which, he hoped, would bring a `new wave` in the party for its revival in Punjab.

OKARA: Hundreds of PPP workers led by district president and a former MNA, Chaudhry Sajjadul Hassan, took out a `Go Nawaz Go` rally from Press Club to Gol Chowk.

The participants holding placards and banners carrying antigovernment slogans marched through Ghousia Masjid Chowk and Kutchehry Bazaar to reach Gol Chowk where local party leaders delivered fiery speeches.

Those who spoke included Chaudhry Sajjadul Hassan, city president Alam Sher Lodhi, founder workers Malik Riasat Ali, Sayyed Zakir Hussain Shah, Shahid Saleem Nonari, Asif Baloch, Rana Shakeel Sulehriaand Sheikh Najamul Saqib.

They said the premier had been left with no moral or ethical basis for ruling the country following the Joint Investigation Team`s findings in Panmama case.

They claimed Nawaz Sharif`s disqualification by the apex court was just a matter of days.

Similarly, in Depalpur tehsil the PPP workers took out a rally led by district secretary general Shahzad Ahmed Naul and in Renala Khurd the party`s anti-government show was led by tehsil president Rana Abdul Rehman.

SAHIWAL: PPP district president Zaki Chaudhry and 50 others were booked on Sunday under Section 16 of the Maintenance of Public Order (MPO) for taking out a `Go Nawaz Go` rally in the city.

According to police, the PPP local leaders and workers were booked for taking out rallies without seeking permission despite imposition of Section 144 by the district administration.

An FIR (188/17) has been lodged under 16 MPO and section 188 of the PPC.

City SHO Rana Asif Sarwar told Dawn that those booked included PPP city president Zaki Chaudhry.

Earlier, localchapter of the party organised a `Go Nawaz Go` rally from Jogi Chowk to Mazdoor Puli. TheDawn

Senator Sherry Rehman response to PM Speech

Islamabad, July 19, 2017: In response to PM Nawaz Sharif’s speech in Sialkot, Vice-President PPPP Senator Sherry Rehman brought to light that Zia ul Haq gave back the Ittefaq Foundry to PM Nawaz Sharif for a sum of 1 Rupee. Senator Sherry Rehman asked that why doesn’t Nawaz Sharif tell the nation that Zia ul Haq also gave him millions at that time? She also inquired that if PM Nawaz Sharif was in such a loss, how did he afford these luxurious properties abroad? Senator Sherry pointed out that Sharif family’s corruption of the 90s decade has been exposed. He should take country out of crises and ensure accountability.

Senator Sherry Rehman said that it is unfortunate that PM is calling country and the courts spectacle. If this is spectacle they should end it by providing money trail. Why don’t they provide money trail?, she questioned.

Senator Rehman said that government is itself making JIT controversial. They do politics on JIT outside Supreme Court every day. Few days back they had been comparing themselves with Shaheed Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto and Mohtarama Benazir Bhutto. Let me remind them there is no match between Bhuttos and Sharifs. Shaheed Bhutto did not sign agreement with dictator to flee out of country. Mohtrama Benazir Bhutto also faced fabricated cases bravely in every court of the country. PPP has always respected court decisions – now it is your turn. PMLN is not facing political revenge they are facing accountability.

She said that, “PM claims to improve trade and industry of the country, however, foreign trade deficit has reached to $99 billion. Only Sharif family’s own business is flourishing. His advisers are misguiding him about real statistics.”

Sherry Rehman said that country is facing 16-18 hours long load shedding in summer while PM claims to end load shedding from country. All those projects inaugurated by PMLN were initiated by PPP government.
