President Zardari Reaffirms Pakistan’s Commitment to Deepen Friendship with China

Islamabad: Secretary General of Pakistan Peoples Party Parliamentarians (PPPP), Syed Nayyer Hussain Bukhari, said that if the federal government consults the PPP regarding the imposition of Governor’s Rule in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, the party will give its views strictly in accordance with the Constitution and law.
He said the law and order situation in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa was deeply concerning, with security personnel and civilians losing their lives in frequent terrorist attacks.

Bukhari said peaceful protest was a democratic right, but attacking the state under the guise of politics was unacceptable. The government must ensure the rule of law and take effective measures to maintain peace and security.
He said the PPP had always believed in dialogue and political negotiations, as national issues could only be resolved through meaningful political engagement.

Regarding the invitation from the Tehreek Tahafuz-e-Aain Pakistan for an All Parties Conference, Bukhari said the matter would be considered by the PPP’s Central Executive Committee, which would take the final decision.
