Islamabad, 10 November 2020: Chairman Pakistan Peoples Party, Bilawal Bhutto Zardari has said that the relation between the people of Gilgit Baltistan and the PPP goes back three generations because we share the ideology. The ideology is that “Islam is our Religion, democracy is our politics, equality is our economy, all powers to the people and Shahadat is our destination”.

He was addressing a corner meeting in Nagar Gilgit Baltistan in connection with the election campaign of the party. Bilawal Bhutto Zardari is on campaign for the last three weeks and visiting every nook and corner of GB in his campaign trail. Senator Sherry Rehman, Senator Mustafa Nawaz Khokhar, Faisal Karim Kundi and Jamil Soomro were also present on the occasion.

He said that the people of Nagar are my brothers and sisters. He paid tributes to the martyrs and said that the people of Nagar supported Shaheed Zulfikar Ali Bhutto, Shaheed Mohtarma Benazir Bhutto and President Asif Ali Zardari and now they are supporting Bilawal Bhutto Zardari. The rights which the people of GB have now were given by the PPP. Now we are continuing our struggle for the right to rule, the right to property and the right to employment. We have to take your representatives to the national assembly of Pakistan, the senate of Pakistan and they will also choose the prime minister of Pakistan. They can also even become the prime minister of Pakistan.

The people of Gilgit Baltistan are running a campaign for inclusion in Pakistan but the people in Islamabad are not listening to them. Shaheed Zulfikar Ali Bhutto gave the constitution, Islamic parliamentary democratic system. Today I promise to give the constitutional rights to the people of GB. They might be thinking to withdraw subsidy on wheat and increase taxes in return of province but first we will compensate the people of GB for the injustices meted out to them in the last 70 years. We condemn the notification of taxes even before making GB a province. Now we are making government in GB after 15 November and will legislate for right to property within three months.

Chairman PPP welcomed the action on the inquiry ordered by the army chief on the incident in the Karachi and said that institutions’ integrity is enhanced by such measures. He said that such processes should continue for the sake of democracy.
