PTI government to fall by January

The government in Islamabad will be sent packing by January.  Chairman Pakistan Peoples Party, Bilawal Bhutto Zardari said this while talking to journalists in Gilgit. He said that the people of Gilgit Baltistan are supporting the PPP for the last three generations. The people of GB have shown trust on the opposition by voting far more for the opposition parties than the PTI. They have displayed mistrust on this fake PTI government.

He said that women were not allowed to vote in Tangir. The entire world knows about it through foreign media present in GB. He demanded to provide these 7000 women their right to vote. The law says that these women should be allowed to vote. The PPP jiyalas forced this election commission to recount and soon we will get the good news that PPP won other seats as well. The recounting has been ordered on GB-21 where ballot boxes were stolen. Elections are also being held in GB-3 and he appealed the people to vote for PPP in this constituency. He asked the Election Commissioner that what the delay in announcing the results is.

Bilawal Bhutto Zardari said that the election commissioner of GB has been proved to be biased in favour of the federal government. On whose instructions he held a press conference in Islamabad against opposition, he asked. Bilawal said that a journalist has tweeted a photograph of Election commissioner sitting with governor GB and PTI minister Amin Gandapur. He asked clarification from election commissioner of this photograph. The election commissioner not only sold the people of GB but also the land of GB. The reports of HRCP and FAFEN clearly show that rigging and violation of election laws happened in the GB elections. Fafen report says that at least three incidents of rigging and irregularities were reported from every polling station.

Chairman PPP saluted the people of GB who made difficult for the federal government to form the government in GB. He appealed to the independent winners not to trade their victory to a government which is about to end by January. Do not become a minister for two to three months, he said. He asked independent winners to protect the rights of people of GB by not being cheated by the federal government.

Responding to questions Chairman PPP said that PTI is telling every independent that he is the candidate of chief minister, this is befooling them but the PTI will not make them chief minister.  PTI is cheating all of them. PTI has not nominated their candidate for chief minister whereas PPP has announced its candidate. He said that the Sindh government was the first in announcing measures to deal with Covid-19 but Imran Khan had made them disputed. We have to send Imran Khan packing because he has failed on every front whether Kashmir cause to Covid-19 because PTI government does not have the capacity.

He said that we will tell the whole Pakistan about federal government’s rigging in GB from the stage of PDM public gathering in Peshawar. We will tell the people that the slogan of “vote par daka na Manzoor” is getting momentum in GB. He said that we have a program of public gathering, then a long march and then resignations from parliament and will do anything necessary to send Imran Khan Khan home.

PPP rejects PM’s offer on Electoral Reforms

Rejecting PM’s offer to the opposition to discuss electoral reforms, Parliamentary Leader of the PPP in the Senate, Senator Sherry Rehman said, “The PTI led government should first accept responsibility for rigging elections in Gilgit Baltistan and then talk about reforms. This sudden interest in electoral reforms seems extremely dubious when all these years they have done nothing about it”.

She said, “The government openly violated election rules. According to the Election Act, 2017, the federal government is not allowed to campaign on the ground. On top of all this, the PM also decided to add to this flagrant rigging and misuse of federal resources by landing in GB to campaign few weeks ago. It is shocking that Form 45s were filled even before polling ending. This was blatant rigging by PTI”.

“A parliamentary committee was formed earlier for comprehensive reforms but instead of going through that, they are now talking about electoral reforms. This just reflects the federal government’s non-serious attitude. When it came to Kashmir or Gilgit Baltistan, PM did not take the opposition into confidence but now he wants to talk to the opposition to get these reforms passed?” she questioned.

She said, “This government was formed as a result of RTS failure. They are unable to control inflation, how will they handle e-voting? There are reports that e-voting is prone to hacking and not completely secure. Accountability starts at home and the government should first focus on what they have done in the GB elections before talking about reforms”.

Parliamentary Leader of the PPP in the Senate, Senator Sherry Rehman concluded by saying, “This government has no credibility. Tabahi sarkar is just finding ways to complicate and rig the elections. We are well aware of their intentions and incompetency”.

CEC Gilgit Baltistan instead of taking action against the Law breakers belonging to the Federal Government is asking the opposition to provide proofs against the Law breakers.

17th November 2020

PRESS STATEMENT

The Incharge of Central Election Cell of Pakistan Peoples Parry Senator Taj Haider said in a Press Statement that the Honorable Chief Election Commissioner Gilgit Baltistan instead of taking action against the Law breakers belonging to the Federal Government is asking the opposition to provide proofs against the Law breakers. This attitude is enough proof of the partial conduct of the honorable CEC himself.

Shall we give proof of the open and blatant violation of electoral law by Federal Minister for Kashmir Affairs for running full-fledged campaign for his Party and making promises of development works to the electorate? Shall we give proof of his making appointments of a candidate as his advisor a week ahead of the polling day? Shall we give proof of the Prime Minister standing in Gilgit on a national day and attacking the opposition in a political speech in which he also made a promise of granting provincial status to Gilgit Baltistan? Shall we give proofs of many ministers and advisors addressing public meetings even after the time for campaigning had ended? Shall we give proofs of disappearance of ballot boxes and replacing genuine forms 45 with fake forms 45? Such open crimes are punished with disqualification of Law breaker, under the Law.

Senator Taj Haider said that had any action been taken by the Chief Election Commissioner on our complaints of blatant pre-poll rigging, the polling day rigging and the post poling rigging would have not taken place.

The gross lapses on the part of the CEC have resulted in the open theft of the mandate of the people. One should not ignore that the people of Gilgit Baltistan have been waiting for a fair deal for the last 70 years. It was their forefathers who won their independence through armed struggle. One can rest assured that the peaceful struggle of the people of the area will ultimately result in the restoration of their mandate.

Bilawal cancels his flight back to Islamabad, decides to stay with people of GB

Islamabad/Gilgit, 16 November 2020: Chairman Pakistan Peoples Party, Bilawal Bhutto Zardari has cancelled his return flight to Islamabad and decided to participate in the protest against the rigging in the Gilgit Baltistan Elections in Gilgit

Chairman PPP while addressing the press conference gave examples of rigging in the elections. He said that no polling was conducted in GB-13 constituency in the garb of rough weather. He demanded re-election in constituency GB-13.

He said that women were the disfranchised and not allowed to vote in constituency GB-18. So much so that the PPP candidate, Sadia Danish could not file her nomination papers in her constituency. Not allowing women to vote is denial of their freedom to vote and there should be re-election in GB18 as well.

Bilawal Bhutto Zardari said that in constituency GB-21 ballot boxes were stolen. How the election commission can ignore this incident, he asked. There is no status or value of this election.

Sectarianism was spread in several constituencies to defeat PPP candidates. We will not allow spreading sectairinism and dividing and rule policy just to benefit government’s favorite candidates. Similar sectarianism was spread in constituency GB-8. He demanded re-election in all those constituencies where sectarianism benefited government supported candidates.

In the constituency GB-2 Jamil Ahmad won the elections but forcibly rigged counting against him so he lost just by 2 votes. The PPP will not accept this reversal of result. Forms 45 are not matching in this constituency.

Bilawal Bhutto Zardari said that the PPP has all the options and will exhaust every one of them. We will go to courts and also to the election commission. Chief election commissioners was biased that he addressed a press conference against opposition.

Chairman PPP said that the ministers violated the verdict of the court as well. When a prime minister can be sent home on contempt of court then why not the ministers of PTI government, he asked. He said that the ministers bribed people to vote for government candidates. They also announced projects during their illegal campaign. We are going to courts after collecting all the evidences of rigging. He said that he has cancelled his flight to Islamabad and will participate in the protest in Gilgit against the rigging. He said that these results are a joke and the people of GB will not accept them. They were so ill prepared that they do not even have a candidate of chief minister whereas he has announced his nomination for chief minister which is Advocate Amjad Hussain. He said that he is preparing to form government in GB. He hoped that by the morning he will be given all the seats back which were stolen from the people of GB. He said the rights of the people are being snatched and his party will protest till the votes are protected. He also said that he is aware that how two institutions were deciding these rigging sitting together. They were working against the PPP in that room. He criticised those journalists who were saying that he has come to GB after striking a deal. He said that his party was not given level playing field. We will not be satisfied by any lollipop and are preparing to form the government in GB.
