Chairman PPP Bilawal Bhutto Zardari demands withdrawal the decision of PTI government decision FATA

ISLAMABAD/KARACHI, April 10: Chairman Pakistan Peoples Party Bilawal Bhutto Zardari has demanded immediate withdrawal of the PTI government’s decision to drastically cut the number of scholarships from 265 to just 29 for the students of formerly FATA areas and Balochistan.

In a press statement, the PPP Chairman said that students from ex-FATA and Balochistan have the right to quality education because these areas have suffered gravely due to terrorism. “This withdrawal of scholarship quotas by the PTI Government is tantamount to snatching pen from these poor students and giving gun in their hands,” he added.

Bilawal Bhutto Zardari said depriving these students of scholarships proves the ugly face of the Imran Khan regime, which is bent upon to destroy the higher education through cutting the funds. PTI government had announced education and health emergency but its attitude displays a lethal approach to ruin these key sectors of the country, he added.

He said that PPP won’t tolerate injustice and discrimination by the regime against the students from backward and remote areas of ex-FATA and Balochistan.

Bilawal Bhutto Zardari strongly condemned the approach of PTI government and demanded that higher education scholarships to the students from ex-FATA and Balochistan should be restored and further increased.

PPP demands apology from Prime Minister for victim blaming

Islamabad, 9 April 2021: Information Secretary PPPP, Shazia Marri has strongly condemned the recent statement of Prime Minister Imran Khan regarding increase in rape cases and reasons thereof. She said that Imran Khan’s irrepressible statement has enraged the people of Pakistan and poured salt over the wounds of innocent victims of rape crimes and their families. She further said that Chairman PPP Bilawal Bhutto Zardari had also taken serious notice of such an irresponsible and insensitive statement by the country’s premier. “Imran Niazi has done enough damage to the country’s economy and the plight of Pakistani people, he’s now acting as a rape apologist!”, Marri said.

Shazia Marri said that minors as young as 4 and 5 years of age were being raped in the country and such barbarianism was being justified by the Prime Minister himself. PPP to Oppose Legislation in name of disrespect for Forces

Islamabad April 8, 2021: Pakistan People’s Party rejects any attempts to further gag the fundamental right of freedom of expression in the name of preventing defamation and disrespect of the armed forces.

In a statement Secretary General of the Pakistan Peoples Patty Parliamentarians Senator Farhatullah Babar today expressed grave concern over a bill moved by a PTI MNA and approved by the National Assembly Standing Committee on Interior seeking to amend the PPC to send anyone to jail for two years with fine Rs 500,000 or both for what has been described as ‘defamation of the army”.

He said Section 500 of the PPC already provides punishment for the defamation of anyone, and the addition of Section 500-A is aimed only at gagging freedom of expression guaranteed under Article 19 of the Constitution in name of national security. It is not acceptable and will be opposed at every platform he said.

The nation has witnessed enough of how behind the façade of ‘national security’ citizens have disappeared mysteriously, national resources diverted,  internment centres set up, ex tribal areas made a no go area, foreign and security policies hijacked and security establishment’s business and commercial empire expanded exponentially.

Section 500-A is liable to be grossly misused in the name of national security as Section 295-C has been misused in the name of religion, he said.

Defence forces working within their constitutional limits are universally admired and do not need any legislation to protect their honor and respect. Similarly no legislation can stop people from questioning those who transgress their limits with impunity, he said.

PPP strategy proved right

Islamabad, 7 April 2021: Secretary Information Pakistan Peoples Party, Faisal Karim Kundi has said that today 3 MNAs and 15 MPAs accompanied Jahangir Tareen to the court which means that cracks have emerged in the ranks and files of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf.

Kundi said that Jahangir Tareen has claimed of having support of 53 MPAs and nearly 18 MNAs which shows that Imran Khan has lost confidence of the majority members in the National Assembly. This means that the strategy by the Chairman PPP, Bilawal Bhutto Zardari of bringing a no-confidence motion against Imran Khan was correct but PML-N preferred to protect Imran Khan’s government. PML-N intentionally demanded resignations so that PDM could be divided and the government be saved. On one hand, people are accusing PPP of striking a deal and being the reason for the formation of cracks in the PDM, and on the other the same people are living a comfortable life in London.

Islamabad, 7 April 2021: Spokesman to the Sindh government, Murtaza Wahab has said that the Chief Minister Sindh, Syed Murad Ali Shah has come to Islamabad to fight the case of Sindh in the meeting of the Council of Common Interest (CCI). The meeting of the CCI should be held after every 90 days. He said that the biggest issue at this time is the census 2017. The population of Sindh and Balochistan were shown less in the census 2017. He said that all the political parties had agreed to get third party audit of the census but the government did not do anything on the issue. No one had accepted the results of the census 2017. There could be no proper planning without correct census, he said.

Murtaza Wahab addressing a press conference at the Sindh House Islamabad said that the Chief Minister will raise the question of three hospitals in Sindh in the meeting of council of common Interest. He said that these hospitals have treated over 83 lacs patients since 2012 and over 3 lacs patients were from other provinces. These hospitals serve patients from all over Pakistan free of cost. Since 2012 13075 patients were treated by cyber-knife and 48 percent of those patients were not from Sindh.

Murtaza Wahab said that the Supreme Court had said in its decision that the federal government will have to return the money to Sindh government which it had spent on these hospitals but not a single penny has been paid to the Sindh government. Anyhow, Sindh government has filed a review petition in the Supreme Court and the federal government should wait for its decision.

Chairman PPP Bilawal Bhutto Zardari message on World Health Day

ISLAMABAD/KARACHI, April 6: Chairman Pakistan Peoples Party Bilawal Bhutto Zardari has said that PTI regime has a policy of “Health For the Elite” instead of “Health For All” and accused Imran Khan government for putting at risk the health of Pakistanis through its corruption-laden policies.

In his message on World Health Day being observed on Wednesday across the world under the aegis of World Health Organisation (WHO), the PPP Chairman said that health facilities were the basic right of the people of Pakistan and government must ensure safeguarding this right. However, the PTI regime has increased drug prices up to an unprecedented 260 percent, which has compelled a major segment of patients to reduce drug dosage or discontinue treatment.

Bilawal Bhutto Zardari further said that in Imran Khans cabinet, two Health Ministers were removed on corruption charges for being caught red handed in the  drug price and import scandals but no visible action has been taken against them while the PTI regime continues playing havoc with public health.

He pointed out Sindh government had spent Rs 100 billion on the JPMC and NICVD hospitals in the province, where state of the art and expensive medical treatment is provided to patients of cardiovascular, liver, cancer and other diseases from all over Pakistan free of cost. “However, the PTI regime is plotting to turn this successful public healthcare model into a model of failure by attempting to take over these hospitals and run them into the ground like they have done in countless public health facilities like the provinces they rule,” he added.

Bilawal Bhutto Zardari said that Imran Khan first declared COVID-19 as a simple flu asking people not to get scared of it. He (Imran Khan) opposed the lockdown by Sindh government during the first wave of the pandemic only to follow the PPP-led Sindh governments lead after it took concrete steps to deal with the pandemic. Now, Imran Khan’s government is among only a few in the world, which has not purchased COVID-19 vaccines itself, relying solely on donated doses.

The PPP Chairman added that the illegitimate and incompetent selected government led by Imran Khan was not only a danger to the economic prosperity of the country but it was equally intent on systematically destroying  the health sector. He lamented that PTIs neo-liberal policies worked only to enrich the few at the cost of the economic, social, health, and political wellbeing of every Pakistani citizen.

PML-N cares about power not the people’s problems

slamabad, 5 April 2021: Secretary Information Pakistan Peoples Party Parliamentarians, Shazia Atta Marri MNA has said that Shahid Khaqan Abbasi and Ahsan Iqbal are harming Pakistan Democratic Movement for becoming prime minister.

Shazia Marri said that when the show cause will be issued about the alliance of PTI and JUI in Sindh. When a show cause will be issued to get 11 Senators selected from Punjab with the connivance of PML-N and PTI? When a show cause notice will be issued for bracketing resignations with the long march? She said that if Bilawal Bhutto Zardari after sending home the government in Punjab would have entered Islamabad and chased Imran Khan out. The PML-N has helped the establishment and the government by cancelling the opposition’s long march. When the action will be taken against this PML-N’ collusion with the establishment and the government, she asked.

Shazia said that the PML-N does not want to remove Usman Buzdar so that his inability could be used by PML-N in the next elections. The PML-N is only worried about power and not the resolution of the issues confronting the people of Pakistan. Whatever successes PDM achieved are the result of the vision of Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari. The PPP wants to take everyone along with it for democracy otherwise Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari is enough to confront Imran Khan alone, Shazia Marri concluded.
